by Level 2 sees alcohol sales resume and more establishments open at the Palace of Dreams

With the declaration of Level 2 by the presidency, Peermont’s flagship property, Emperors Palace, sees the return of alcohol sales and more establishments opening at the Casino, Convention and Entertainment Resort.

Despite the curfew still being in effect, patrons and restaurant establishments have welcomed the return of alcohol sales, which will be available at selected casino bars and outlets until 21h30.
‘Things are slowly returning to normal, and we are happy to be able to accommodate alcohol sales again. It’s been a frustrating few months for a lot of South Africans and many people just want to go out and have a good time again. We’re happy to supply entertainment and an escape from the current situation and as long as people drink responsibly and adhere to all our COVID protocols,’ says Complex Operations Executive at Emperors Palace, Clive Tavener.

Conveniently located next to O.R. Tambo International Airport, the Palace of Dreams’ reopened in late June with several restaurants and establishments opting to remain closed until Level 2. Players have been welcomed back with a series of mystery jackpots and surprise activations, creating a lively playing environment. Health and safety has been a priority with social distancing maintained through Perspex dividing screens at slot machines and table games, and limiting numbers at selected games.

Majority of restaurants are open for service during curfew hours, including Hooters, Ocean Basket, Italian Kitchen, Platia, Braza, Taste of Mumbai, Spur, Steers and Nando’s. While Rosetta’s Kitchen remains closed for it’s legendary buffets, snacks and hot beverages area available from it’s Bistro. The 5-star D’oreale Grande hotel is open to leisure and business travellers alike, offering a luxury retreat with all the desired amenities. Rooms are sanitised and sealed for guests’ protection with the award-winning Aurelia’s Restaurant where breakfast and dinner is served daily. A favourite with guests, the High Tea at Aurelia’s Restaurant returns on Saturdays from 14h00 to 16h00 in the picturesque gardens of the lavish hotel. The elegant affair consists of a personalised platter of Chef’s choice pastries and sweet treats as well as juices, tea and coffees.

‘The health and safety of our guests and employees are of utmost importance, and that’s why we’ve been preparing for this eventual easing of restrictions. We’re looking forward to welcoming back many familiar faces and know we’ll provide a memorable experience as well as peace of mind,’ concludes Tavener.
