The Peermont School Support Programme's final Pursuing Excellence Workshop
Lead, inspire, motivate, is the ethos of the Peermont School Support Programme (PSSP), a R40-million investment initiative supported by Peermont Hotels, Casinos and Resorts to develop centers of education excellence around seven high schools and their feeder primary schools in Ekurhuleni and Sedibeng. To this end educators and learners who have gone the extra mile towards achieving excellence received recognition at the PSSP’s final Pursuing Excellence Workshop held at St John’s College in Johannesburg on Saturday, September 5. The workshop entitled “Ask Difficult Questions” focused on celebrating what has been achieved during the six-year PSSP journey and asking the difficult questions of how the schools involved in the initiative will continue on to 2020 and beyond once the programme finishes at the end of the year. The workshop culminated in Reggy Mtileni (a junior facilitator and lab assistant at Germiston High School) and educator at the school, Natasja van Niekerk receiving “Certificates of Excellence”.
